CASE STUDIES

Mottram St. Andrew

The customer brief was to convert the loft into a habitable functional bedroom and office space while keeping the ceilings in the first floor bedrooms at the same height, with no dormer and the staircase in the existing first floor landing. We also had to deal with the ground floor staircase being open plan with the lounge. Four top hung roof windows were used to bring in as much light as possible. We didn’t want the staircase to have a support underneath, so the staircase appeared to float above the landing as we used a steel beam cantilevered off the internal brick wall and secured to the floor steel beam so a support underneath was not required.

"The end result was beyond our expectations and the space they created for us has become an integral part of our day to day living. The team were very friendly and worked with care and attention, both on the job and in the house"
