The customer brief here was to create a new master bedroom with as much space and light as possible. This was achieved by lowering the ceilings in the first floor bedrooms by 300mm, building a full width box dormer on the rear, locating the staircase over the existing staircase, and installing French doors with a Juliet balcony. In addition to the French doors and Juliet balcony, we installed 3 roof windows on the front to maximise the amount of natural light flooding in. The staircase was installed in the first floor landing but left enough space to allow access to the existing bedrooms.
