Dormer

A dormer is a great way to transform your loft conversion into a specious, airy, bright, and exciting space. It will drastically increase the floor space and enable a greater number of options for the staircase, en-suite and furniture. There are a number of different dormer designs; Flat roof, gable and hip are just a few examples. The most common dormers are box flat roof dormers and gable dormers. Large dormers require additional support from the steel beams inserted in the apex of the loft.

A dormer constructed on the rear of the roof doesn’t typically require planning permission; unless the property is in a conservation area or has already used its permitted development rights. Dormers situated on the front or side of the roof will require planning permission, in this case we will instruct an architect who can produce the drawings required and submit them to the local planning office.

"The end result was beyond our expectations and the space they created for us has become an integral part of our day to day living. The team were very friendly and worked with care and attention, both on the job and in the house"
